Automation Is Coming—But Who’s Left to Buy the Products?

By Anthony F. Sanchez, Author & UFO Researcher

We are living through the quiet collapse of the traditional workforce. While headlines parade the promise of artificial intelligence and automation, a deeper question lingers—who will be left to participate in the economy these machines are optimizing for? This isn’t just a labor issue—it’s a civilization issue. As corporations race to embrace AI and cut human labor, we are approaching a breaking point where the very system that fuels profit—human consumption—may no longer be sustainable. This article confronts that paradox head-on, asking the question too few dare to voice: if machines do the work, and billionaires own the machines, who will be left to buy the products?

* Bumble just laid off 30% of its workforce.
* Dropbox slashed 20% last year. IBM cut 9,000 jobs.
* JP Morgan Chase expects to cut another 10%.
* Microsoft axed 15,000.
* Even Business Insider is trimming 21%.

"All in the name of AI adoption."

Ford CEO Jim Farley says AI will eliminate half of all white-collar jobs.

Anthropic’s CEO warns U.S. unemployment could spike to 20%.

And yet—at this very moment—the current government insists people must work to earn essentials like healthcare, education, and food. Meanwhile, we’re staring down a future where most people won’t have to work at all.

Amazon just deployed its 1 millionth robot in a fulfillment center.

The writing's not just on the wall—it’s been laser-etched by a robot arm.

Yes, automation and AI can be revolutionary. But without universal healthcare and universal basic income, where is the money going? Who’s left to buy the products? How does an economy run when the very consumers it depends on are cut out of the loop?

No matter how deep a billionaire's greed runs, they can’t hoard everything. Like in Monopoly, once you own it all... the game ends. And when the game ends? Nothing has value anymore.

Look, I’m not opposed to AI or robotics. I work with AI. I build AI tools. I see the incredible potential it holds across industries. But what I am opposed to is the way it’s being ushered in under the illusion that it’s "for the greater good"—when in truth, it’s being used to replace people, displace livelihoods, and strip away financial stability from the working class.

AI should serve humanity, not replace it. And humanity, in turn, must not abuse AI—but rather incorporate it with both morality and ethics at the forefront.

We—the 99%—have more power than we think. The elite know it. They fear it. Because we still control the two things they need most: our votes and our dollars.

God bless. Hold onto your job if you can. Protect your position. And above all—share this message. Others need to hear it before the game ends.
