The LaGuardia UFO Incident: Prompting An Urgent Need for UFO Transparency

By Anthony F. Sanchez, Author & UFO Researcher

I recently conducted a thorough research effort on this UFO case by reviewing all available materials, watching videos from the witnesses, and examining analyses from relevant UFO experts. What struck me most was the transparency, authenticity, and remarkably clear evidence presented. This leads me to confidently conclude that this incident is neither a hoax, a mere insect on the lens, nor any other mundane explanation. Rather, it points to the genuine possibility of a real unidentified flying object.

Yes, in the clear blue skies above New York City, a mystery unfolded that captured the imagination and concern of those who witnessed it. Michelle Reyes, while aboard a commercial flight approaching LaGuardia Airport on March 25, recorded a fleeting glimpse of what appeared to be a cylindrical object speeding across the skyline. This incident, which might have been dismissed by some as a fleeting anomaly, has instead underscored a growing concern within the UFO research community regarding the lack of transparency and cooperation from official bodies like the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in UFO and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) investigations.

The Sighting

Reyes, accompanied by her daughter, initially thought she might have captured a mere bug on her camera while filming the cityscape. However, upon reviewing the footage, it became clear that the object was external, autonomous, and distinctly uncharacteristic of any conventional aircraft. The "flying cylinder" was captured in a video that displayed it zipping across the sky—a view so startling that Reyes felt compelled to report it to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a potential safety hazard. Regrettably, her concerns met with silence; there was no acknowledgment from the FAA, and only Enigma Labs responded among the various organizations she contacted.

Analysis and Expert Opinions

Ben Hansen, a former FBI agent and now a host on "UFO Witness," analyzed the footage extensively. His conclusions were unsettling yet unsurprising for those familiar with UAP studies: the object exhibited no conventional features like wings or a tail and moved at speeds and in a manner not typical of known aerial technologies. Moreover, the object was captured clearly on video for a brief yet significant duration, appearing in five frames and passing in about a seventh of a second—a testament to its incredible speed.

MUFON

Thomas Wertman, a respected figure in the field and the state director of the Mutual UFO Network in Ohio, further supported these findings. In speaking with the New York Post, he ruled out various conventional explanations, such as drones or military aircraft, given the object's altitude, unusual round shape, and its proximity to a major flight path, which added an element of potential risk to air traffic safety.

The Frustrating Silence from AARO

Despite presenting well-documented and analyzed evidence, Reyes and the UFO research community face a familiar wall of silence from organizations tasked with investigating these anomalies. The lack of feedback or acknowledgment from entities like AARO not only stifles the potential for understanding these phenomena but also leaves witnesses and the public with unresolved concerns and questions about their safety and the nature of the objects they encounter.

The UFO research community continues to emphasize the importance of transparency and active engagement from governmental and international bodies in addressing UAP sightings. As evidenced by Reyes' experience and the corroborative analysis by experts like Hansen and Wertman, there is a clear, demonstrable need to take these incidents seriously and to invest in thorough, open investigations. Such efforts are not just about satisfying curiosity but are crucial for public safety, scientific advancement, and potentially, national security.

My Take On This

The incident above New York City serves as a poignant reminder of our limited understanding of the phenomena populating our skies. As we advance into an era where the skies become increasingly crowded with a variety of human-made objects, the imperative to differentiate between identifiable technology and true unidentified objects becomes more critical. For the sake of all who look up to the sky, whether from an airplane window or from the ground, the hope remains that organizations like AARO will soon recognize the importance of their role and begin to cooperate more fully with the research community dedicated to unveiling the unknown.
